My father in law owns a beat up old FJ40 he bought for 600 bucks. It's a blast in every kind of off road shenanigans(holy shit I just spelled shenanigans right first try). But this Yellow beast would be even better.

I personally think that the Hilux is amazing. Have you seen the top gear segment on it? THEY BURNED IT, DROPPED IT, DUNKED IT IN THE OCEAN, AND ALOT MORE! AND IT STILL RAN!

My dad bought an FJ40 new in '76......went all out on it, stainless steel checker tub, big mudders, loud enough stereo to hear clearly on the highway, hood and tail mounted spare wheels, jerry cans.....god I wish he still had that truck....when he quit working for the BCR and moved into a city he sold it to get a cheap daily and a work truck :(

I have seen it, and they are amazing. The FJ40 is pretty unstopable too. Although we might have broken it. It has no tach, and one our buddies may have over revved it trying to get out of some exceptionally deep and think mud. now it starts spewing coolant at anything more and idle. We'll have to wait till spring to find out what its going to need cuz right now it's buried under three-four feet of snow.

I think almost every one's Mom or Dad owned a kick ass car that they wish had been passed down to them. M dad had a lime green 78 242, then a VW camper van with the pop up top and everything. And my mom's first car was a yellow 510 sedan, and then a Maverick. I still don;t think I've owned anything that my kids will lust after. lol

There are so many cool cars my parents and grandparents had that I wish they still had.....Plymouth Valiant convertible with the Commando V8 and hurst 4 speed, '65 Beetle, the Cruiser, '55 Bel Air, International Travelall, Datsun 210, Ford Fairlane wagon, same VW pop top camper haha

I've fantasized about dropping it a bit and swapping the 18R for a warmed-over 3RZ, but I'd leave the whitewalls, mudflaps, "west coast"-style trucker mirrors, and of course the canopy.

That reminds me my Dad's first car was a '67 Ford Galaxy 500 which I believe had a 390. God I'd love that car. Neither of my parents really had a Muscle car though. My Dad was more a European car guy but he hasn't really had anything cool since he had kids. poor guy
